Summer Musings

The Summer is almost gone. I turn back and find myself reminded of many of the things that most musicians do during summer time: look for extra gigs or attend summer festivals and camps. Good times… What can I say but, maybe next time! My recent relocation to Chicago has stirred many existential things into a pot so I’m quite fortunate to have completed my doctorate at Northwestern University, finished two new works, and am just about to submit an orchestra piece to a composition contest. Also, in addition to the organist job at St. Michael’s in Old Town, I have just been appointed an adjunct faculty in music at St. Xavier University in Chicago, where I will be teaching music theory and composition courses; thanks everyone who made all this possible.

The Fall, rain and colder weather is just around the corner here in Chicago. I look forward to some exciting projects to come, new blogs, and surely – quite a busy agenda on the table! Stay tuned.
