I am very happy to announce that I have been appointed as Assistant Professor of Musicianship Studies at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. This Fall I will be joining a music faculty at Mary Pappert School of Music where I will be teaching a forward-looking music theory curriculum that integrates harmony, counterpoint, form, and analysis with aural and keyboard skills, composition, and improvisation. I believe that Duquesne University is a wonderful place to pursue both creative and scholarly work, while encouraging the students to explore not only their personal interests but also the many meanings of music and its role in the contemporary world.
In line with the mission statement of Duquesne University, I find music to abide in the realm of spiritual – to teach it is like a vocation, capable of not only enriching one’s life, but also making us aware of the important concern for moral and spiritual values in our daily lives.
I am delighted for the opportunity to join the music faculty at Duquesne University and become a part of the university community known for its commitment to academic and music excellence.
