prelude_for_a_prayerPrelude for a Prayer explores the beginnings of my newly developed harmonic language and formal design. The former is rooted in my research of the perceptual principles of harmony perception as a metaphor for musical syntax; the latter reflects my love for mystical qualities of the self-generative systems, such as spirals, as formative schemas for melody and form construction. Dedicated to my organ student, Peg Jansson, this humble organ prelude is one of my dearest works.

The work’s intermediate level is highly suited for both advanced and amateur organist; its meditative quality would find a positive response in the church, as well as concert environment.
